Her doctoral thesis included a novel set in Australia and Indonesia and she has close family and friendship ties with Indonesia. She lives in Sydney, and her research interests include ethics, aesthetics, alterity and form in the cross-cultural novel, writing as an embodied process, and Australian-Indonesian cross-cultural connection.
